Goon Theft Auto is back online, with Freeroam Release Candidate 4

Hello people. You might have noticed the servers and website were down for about a week. Our host was targeted by a DDoS, after several smaller attacks on the SZR server specifically, and our ISP had no choice but to null-route the entire IP, which included the website and everything on the box. So sorry about that, but the good news is that everything is sorted now and back up and running smoothly.

In other news, during the break I worked hard on RC4 and finished it, and it's live on Goon Theft Auto. I really feel like I got a lot done on this one (the changelog is here). Some notable changes include:

  • A fully-working radar system, based on what minigame you are playing
  • New round-based system for the OJ and STQ minigames, started by the command '/ready'
  • Minigame-specific scoring (which will soon be persistant)
  • A new stealthy Sniper minigame, set in the nuclear plant in north Las Venturas
  • Vehicle health indicators, shown by your own health while driving
  • A new anti-fall option for bikes (which is very neat, try it out)
  • Many other improvements to minigames and other commands

As for the next release candidate, I think I will expand on some of the new options for object spawning, and possibly move to more menu-based options, as well as a few more minigame changes. But I think, barring any major issues, that RC4 will be the last release candidate before Freeroam 1.0 is ready for public release, which is pretty exciting (to me, at least :P)!
